Mary's Christmas (Paperback)

£9.99

She believed before she understood. A companion volume in this series has already traced Mary's own story chronologically. Mary's Christmas asks a different question of the same remarkable life, tracing her faith, her surrender, and her wonder as distinct qualities, followed all the way from a virgin's confused question to her own quiet presence in an upper room decades later. From a faith offered before any of her practical questions had been resolved, to a hundred mile journey undertaken at a foreign empire's own convenience, to the genuinely difficult, unglamorous night this book's own title names directly, to foreign strangers kneeling before her son with costly gifts, to a sword foretold and carried without complaint, to a wonder tested by genuine confusion and matured, years later, into quiet confidence at a wedding feast, this book follows Mary's own believing all the way to her final recorded appearance, still faithful, still praying, long after everyone else had stopped talking about the manger. Written in a warm, clear, and accessible voice, this is the eighteenth book in the author's Christmas series, and it stands complete on its own. For anyone who has ever wanted to understand not just what happened to Mary, but what her faith actually required of her, this book offers exactly that.
