Simeon Saw the Salvation (Paperback)

He waited for years. Then he held the promise. Companion volumes in this series have already traced Simeon's own encounter alongside Mary's and Joseph's own stories. Simeon Saw the Salvation returns to Simeon specifically, tracing his story from a character already settled, just, devout, and watching, through the Spirit's own threefold work in his life, to the single morning his decades of waiting finally, completely ended. From the exact prophetic word Isaiah had already spoken centuries earlier, to a personal promise sustained across years of ongoing faithfulness, to the humble offering revealing exactly what kind of family Simeon was about to meet, to a song of complete peace and a prophecy of honest warning spoken to a young mother, to Anna's own independent, confirming witness, to a quiet ending matching the quiet, faithful life that preceded it, this book traces Simeon's complete story, a man whose brief appearance in Scripture still has much to say to anyone currently waiting on a promise of their own. Written in a warm, clear, and accessible voice, this is the twenty first book in the author's Christmas series, and it stands complete on its own. For anyone who has ever wondered how to wait faithfully without knowing when the waiting will end, this book offers Simeon's own patient, watchful example.
